Commemorative plate at the Niargoutte farm: Souvenir français aux morts pour la patrie 1914-1918 ('The French people remember those who died for their country during the 1914-1918 war'). On August 14, 1914 the battle of Saint-Blaise-la-Roche/Plaine took place, during which a German flag was seized from the 132nd Pomeranian regiment, (awarded to the 2nd battalion of the 99th reserve infantry regiment of Lower Alsace), by the 1st battalion of the chasseurs à pied, under the orders of Commander Tabouis. This was the first flag captured from the Germans during the 1914-1918 war. A copy of this flag is currently on show at the Saint Cyr 'Coëtquidan' museum. The original is probably in Russia. View map
