This risks a representation of reality where we do not inhabit time, but a matter that would have shaped it itself. According to the theory of fragments, we are equally accountable for the past and the future.
The play is presented as an interweaving of the laws of the said theory and scenes dealing with the fate of Alsace in the Second World War. We meet in particular Charles Loos, the author's great-uncle, Malgré-Nous who died on the Russian front in the German army. See the map
