Body and soul: Sport in Alsace-Moselle (1940-1945) Sport in Alsace-Moselle (1940-1945) depicts the daily life of Alsatians-Mosellens controlled and conscripted by the Nazi authorities, even in their physical activities. Practiced every day by children at school or in the Hitler Youth, and by many adults in the army, in their work or in their associative activities, sport framed society and conveyed the Nazi ideal of new man wanted by the regime. Whether amateur or competitive, he had to forge bodies and souls, tools necessary for propaganda and the construction of the Third Reich. Also presented in German, this exhibition echoes the Olympic and Paralympic Games which will take place during the summer of 2024 in Paris.
